I didn't know February 7th was Send a Card to a Friend Day until I stopped by the Simon Says Stamp blog. What a great idea, with the busy life we all lead, it's good to take time out for those that mean the most to us. I'm still in love with the Distress Oxide ink pads I got for Christmas. I designed the following card using a week old SSS Wednesday Challenge of Resist It for my inspiration. With the winter blues having set in, I thought some butterflies from Stampendous Butterfly Trio would cheer me and my friend up. The coloring was done using round foam pads by Ranger and was much easier than I expected to control the placement. The color blended amazingly when I wiped off the color from the embossed areas. I loved the bright colors of the Altenew January 2018 Inspiration Challenge shown below and knew right away what to make. I received a collection of Distress Oxide Ink Pads for Christmas and thought that the Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber colors were a good match. As a bonus, I received the inks from the person this card was made for. The Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set is one of my favorites, so I used the large flower as the focus as well as the leaves. After embossing, I water colored with the Distress Oxide Inks. I really liked how the colors blended together. Thanks to Erum for the inspiration and thanks for stopping by. Tammy
